Mississippi John Hurt is known as a representative of the country blues, especially the stylistic variant of the Delta Blues. His style has been described as a subtle blend of blues, folk, ragtime and bluegrass. Typical of his music is his virtuoso finger-picking guitarplaying, also the skill to play the bass line and at the same time the melody and rhythm accompaniment.
